Does one study explain what is happening to my skin?
Short answer
Usually not. A study can offer a mechanism or clue, but its population, methods, and limits determine how much it can say about you.

Ask what was measured, in whom, where on the body, and under what conditions. A small laboratory or observational study may be useful without being able to diagnose an individual or prove that a product will work.
The safest use of research is to improve a conversation: “Could this be relevant, and what else should we consider?” It should not be used to start, stop, or change medical treatment on its own.
