A jar promise for the face is not what this paper measured.
A jar promise for the face is not what this paper measured.
Non-product principles for reading anti-aging jar language. No brands. Nothing to buy.
This is a tonight-only set of principles. It is not a regimen, a shop list, or a substitute for a clinician. If something already prescribed conflicts with this page, keep the prescription and ask your clinician.
Principles (tonight)
- Treat “anti-aging on the jar” as marketing language until a study actually measured the face endpoint you care about. Rittié measured collagen markers after topical estradiol for 2 weeks in about 40 postmenopausal women and 30 men (mean age about 75): hip responded; photoaged face and forearm did not in that design.
- Do not force a collagen-cream shopping story from this page. There is no MenoDerm cream and these papers are not over-the-counter jar trials.
- Site matters. Sun-protected body skin is not the same claim as photoaged facial skin.
- There is no Shop here. Inflamed, painful, or suddenly worrying change belongs with a clinician.
Honesty line: Rittié is a short-term topical estradiol site-contrast study (2 weeks; about 40 postmenopausal women and 30 men; mean age about 75; medical information only). Haapasaari is an open, non-randomized systemic null in about 43 early postmenopausal women after about 1 year (about 12 months) of estrogen alone or with progestin, on the collagen parameters studied. Principles only. No product.
If the change is new, painful, spreading, or paired with a rash, skip the experiment and use Questions for your doctor.
