Oily and dry can both be true.

Oily and dry can both be true.

Non-product principles for oily and dry reports that can coexist. No brands. Nothing to buy.

This is a tonight-only set of principles. It is not a regimen, a shop list, or a substitute for a clinician. If something already prescribed conflicts with this page, keep the prescription and ask your clinician.

Piérard-Franchimont is forehead sebum physiology from about 50 untreated women and about 50 women on HRT, first post-menopause decade. Callens is open, non-randomized HRT context: about 7–15% greater thickness by site, about 35% higher casual sebum, hydration not different. Principles only. No product.

Principles (tonight)

  1. Treat oily and dry as reports that can coexist in the first decade after menopause. Average sebum can fall while women still differ a lot from each other.
  2. Do not force a single oil-control story or a single hydrate-only story from this page. The primary paper is sebum excretion and follicle aging, not a cleanser ladder.
  3. If a layer feels wrong, that may be barrier or vehicle class (other moments), not proof that your oil number is wrong.
  4. There is no Shop here. No oil-control product pitch. Inflamed, painful, or suddenly worrying change belongs with a clinician.

Honesty line: Piérard-Franchimont is forehead sebum physiology (about 50 untreated and 50 on HRT). Callens is open HRT context (about 7–15% greater thickness by site; about 35% higher casual sebum; hydration not different). Principles only. No product.

If the change is new, painful, spreading, or paired with a rash, skip the experiment and use Questions for your doctor.
